I think of myself as Australian, but I’m also British.
I think of myself as white, but I’m also Chinese.
I think of myself as young, but I’m almost 40.
I think of myself as a student, but I’m also a teacher.
I think of myself as a world traveler, but I’m back living in my home land.
I love my other half, I love my family, I love colour, and good bread.
And I love taking photographs.
We had a drink by the pool side for all tenants in our building when we were in Darwin. It was funded by the Body Corporate. It was an opportunity for all to tenants to meet each other. Another thing is to start a building newsletter posted in the lift to see what ideas other tenants have. Love Dad
Dear Dad,
Thanks for reading and for your ideas, I’ll look into what we have here. x
Hello. I wanted to drop you a simple note to show my thanks. I’ve been following website for a month or more and also have picked up quite a number of good information together with loved the way you’ve structured your website. I am trying to operate my own, personal website even so believe its too general and I want to focus much more about scaled-down subjects.

I like your attitude Georgia…but will have to disagree on The Book Thief…it bored me. I just finished “You Before Me” – amazing book.
Thanks Jo, and thanks for visiting. I don’t know that book, who is the author? I will look for it.
Jojo Moyes. My daughter gave it to me…she is a great barometer for me for books…we have very similar tastes. I loved the characters in this one and haven’t cried like that for a while…
With a recommendation like that I’ll definitely be looking for it soon. Thanks!
🙂
You’re welcome !
Jo, I read “You Before Me” while I was away on holidays and I loved it. Thanks for the recommendation 🙂
So glad to hear that Georgia. I am going to try some more of her books. As a plug for a friend…his book is downloadable for free on the 10th and 11th of this month and it is a great read as well.
It really is a good read…at least I think so…and it is free for two days…

Hi Georgia, remember what you commented about awards the other day? Here you go: I have granted you the Very Inspiring Blogger Award. I hope you enjoy it. I can totally understand if you do not wish to participate. I think your blog is wonderful and wanted you to know that.
I have been following your blog on and off, but this is the first time I read your “about”, and I had assumed you were a professional photographer. I was a secondary school science teacher too!! The quality of your photographs and your writing is amazing to me. Thanks for being so consistent with your blog. It is inspiring. You are inspiring. Your students are lucky.
Thank you so much for your kind words Carolee. I need to update some of the details here but yes I’m still a teacher and I love sharing my photos. Thanks for reading!
Good Morning!
I just wanted to let you know that I nominated you for an award. Please do not feel obligated to accept…I just like your blog a lot, and want others to see and read it too!
Hope you have a great day!
Becky
Thank you very much Becky, I really appreciate it
You are very welcome! I enjoy reading your blog!
Now, Georgia: I got all excited when I saw the title of your blog, thinking it meant you wrote about baking – y’know, bread and stuff. So why is it called ‘The Rainbow Bakery’? – and what excuse do you have to offer a grumpy Sydneysider who’s deeply, deeply disappointed? (which double of the adverb reminds me irresistibly of “Tootsie”!) [grin]
Ah, sorry to disappoint you Margaret. I did used to bake and that is where the name came from, combining a love of colour with that of an insistence of only eating good hand-made bread. But then I got all healthy and low-carb and stopped baking… If you click on my ‘recipes’ category I do have some evidence of baking here – this is one of my favourites, which I can probably get away with making a few times in the next couple of months: https://rainbowbakery.wordpress.com/2012/04/07/hot-cross-buns/
‘Timely’ does appear to be the word. 😉
🙂 PS I’m in Sydney too
Where?
Upper North Shore. Where are you based?
Pyrmont. And don’t bloody MENTION ‘sea breeze’ or I’ll throttle yer. 😦
Editing a Masters thesis; got the overhead fan keeping me comparatively human. Only comparatively but.
WHINGE!
I have nominated you for the Inner Peace Award. You can view the post at http://khanasweb.com/2014/01/22/inner-peace-award/
Please feel free to decline if you don’t do awards, otherwise I will look forward to your post 🙂
Ooh, I haven’t seen this award before, thank you so very much for thinking of me Khana 🙂
My pleasure Georgia, it’s quite a lot of work but I think it’s a really nice award to have 🙂
