Six Word Saturday:
Eating fruit straight from the tree.
We spent Christmas at my sister-in-law’s place this year. She has a big house and an even bigger garden with several of the fruit trees absolutely laden with fruit right now. I was looking forward to the fresh raspberries and picked a big bowl the second day we were here but discovered immediately afterwards that the scratches I’d endured from the leaves and canes became an allergic reaction so I’ll send someone else next time. We’ve also had strawberries, oranges, figs and plums. I’ve also seen but not eaten pears, apples, grapefruit, grapes and nectarines. I think my surprise favourite have been the yellow plums photographed above – they are so sweet and delicious! I had also been looking forward to eating cherries but they apparently had an early season this year so we got some from a local grower instead.
Happy Saturday everyone and have a brilliant new year.
Lovely ! Sounds like a bountiful supply of fruity for jams and delicious puds π
Oh yes, there is constantly jam making in progress in that house
Wow, how great to have all that fruit in your backyard. Nice shot, never saw or ate yellow plums.
Thank you, yes it is wonderful. I first came across yellow plums while I was in the UK and quite enjoyed them.
Love the photo! I have never heard of yellow plums but they look delicious! Sounds like a heavenly garden! Happy New Year!
Thank you Tonya, yes they were quite delicious little packets of sugary goodness
I had to look at the plums again. At first glance, I thought they were lemons!π
When I first saw the tree I thought they must be apricots Mlissabeth but it was even better π
Silly me! I thought it was a lemon tree π But I LOVE plums!
Happy New Year to you, Georgia!
Yes Jo, they are the same lovely colour as lemons but much sweeter, I love the yellow plums too – so sweet! Happy New Year to you too Jo π
Don’t know how I missed you on Saturday. This sounds delicious. here in The Northeast Kingdom, no fresh local fruit anytime soon, I’m afraid…
I think I was running late to link up last Saturday Ron. I hope you have some other way of obtaining your healthy nutrients during the winter π
Lovely. That reminded me of when we lived in the tropics, and had every fruit you could name in the garden and a great many we couldn’t!
