Six Word Saturday:
I can’t believe it’s almost winter!
Yep, we are only one week away from the official beginning of winter in Australia (1st June). This month has been unseasonably warm in Sydney, with temperatures for the past couple of weeks being mostly in the mid twenties (Celsius) and the trend is set to continue for the coming week as well. I’m not complaining at all but I realised just last week that in only 3 months time we will have been back in Australia for a whole year and it has been warm(ish) for most of that time. Such a contrast from where we came from in London where there were more cold months than warm.
Happy Saturday everyone!
Happy Saturday, Georgia, hang on to that sun!
Most definitely enjoying it Marion 🙂
I always find it so hard to wrap my head around the concept of summer being winter… *sigh* Then again, even Aussie winter isn’t really winter, at least not in my Swedish mind. Just enjoy the warmth as long as it lasts.
Ah yes, compared with a Swedish winter this is nothing. Although we do get snow in some parts of the country.
I’m feeling for you. Summer’s just getting under way here, though typically it’s only about 3 weeks long…
Ah, sorry to hear that Ron – enjoy it while it lasts.
At first I thought you were joking around and then I realized that you’re from the southern hemisphere. Winter has literally just ended here and we’ve gone from winter straight into summer. Enjoy the good weather while you can.
Thanks Mama. I heard today that this year is the latest recorded that London and Sydney have the same weather. Scary!
Our winter hung on too long – will be glad to send it to you!
I’m ready for it Judy
Our Northern European weather is sooo unpredictable. We had a few days of summer and now the heating’s back on and raincoats are in use. It must be great to have a (fairly) stable climate.
I remember the unpredictability of the season changes, it is a bit unpredictable here but not so drastic changes I guess.
Ah yes, so happy it’s your winter arriving and not the new beginning of ours. As mine is way too much winter! Enjoy your changing of the seasons, and all that it offers.
Thank you Karen
You can go up in the mountains for the cooler weather. I remember snow skiing on July 4th.
I’m happy to wait for the weather to come to me Mlissabeth 😉 I’m not really a skier.
We were in Australia during the winter, and it didn’t feel that cold. (New Zealand was cold!) I think it is the scorching summer heat that would get to me–such a contrast from London!
Absolutely true Naomi, when were you here?
HI Georgia,
Seven or eight years ago. My sister lives in Canberra, and one of my ver dear friends lives in Brisbane. We also went to Cairns and Uluru, and spent a couple weeks in New Zealand. That was an amazing trip to a unique place!
We are just getting into Summer. I hope your Winter is kind.
Thank you
The older we get, the faster the seasons come and go!
Looking forward to Your Visit at Checkered Shadows
Oh that is so true
as our summer begins….your days get shorter and cooler….Enjoy your day! Cheers!
Thanks Kathe!
