      • I am guessing that it has something to do with channeling and easing the flow of water to the canal feeder at one side of the weir/falls – it looks as though something similar is happening to the left of your picture. I could be entirely wrong – where are the water engineers when you need them 🙂

  1. I love this photo taken from the Pulteney Bridge in Bath. I was there about 18 months ago for the first time and fell in love with the city. I’ve read that Jane Austen didn’t like it so much but now she in forever linked to it. I wish I could have been there 120 years ago. Great photos in your blog.

  2. That horseshoe weir reminds me of the one here in Ludlow. A great photo Georgia. I’m going too have to follow your blog so I don’t miss any more of your delightful and beautifully shot images. Sigh… so many wonderful blogs out there in the blogosphere it is serendipity to find one you like. BTW I found yours by randomly selecting a few to look at on Ailsa’s travel theme!
