This display in the historic dockyard area of Portsmouth on the south coast of England, entitled ‘The Dockyard Apprentice’, illustrates life on the docks in the 18th and 19th centuries. Walking through the exhibition gives you a first hand look at the jobs that needed doing and an insight into the ongoing training of the apprentices.

Great entry Georgia for this week theme , They looks happy while doing their ongoing job
Thanks for sharing my friend 🙂
Love the images, especially the ‘laid-back’ guy. Not much work ongoing there. 😀 The sign about the wearing of ‘plimsoles’ really brought back memories. When I was a child eons ago, we wore plimsolls for school sports. 🙂
Fascinating take on the challenge, Georgia. I love that you never really know what you’re going to find when you click on the link.
Thanks Jo. I think Jake mentioned projects in his blurb, which flicked a switch in my brain towards this series of images.
