I’ve not done this before but I’m really pushed for time this week so I’m going to cover two photo challenges in one post. This photo is covering the WordPress Weekly Photo Challenge theme of Big, and Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge of a Single Flower.
This is the closest I’ve ever been to seeing a titan arum in flower. The Amorphophallus titanum is one of the largest flowering plants in the world. When it is in full flower it apparently stinks to high heaven, much like a dead animal, hence it is also known as a “corpse flower”. This photo was taken during our last visit to Kew Gardens, London, in late August this year.

That flower looks huge. Great shot!!
Thanks Cee. Great challenge this week.
It’s like something out of a sci-fi movie! Nice pic!
Thanks Marianne. There are many plants and flowers that don’t take on a ‘traditional’ shape
This is really amazing, Georgia. Perfect for the themes. 🙂
