Sunday Post: Solid


A wall is a solid structure that separates spaces.

The Berlin Wall was in place for almost thirty years. built with the intention of separating East and West Berlin. I didn’t realise until I visited that although the Berlin Wall was built to surround West Berlin, its function was not to keep the West Berliners in but more to keep the East Germans out.

Thankfully that time is over but small sections of the wall still stand in Berlin, one section known as the East Side Gallery is covered with paintings by artists from all over the world depicting powerful images of hope and reconciliation. Like this one below. What gives you hope?
